Chinese Tiger Hats in the collection of the Textile Research Centre (TRC), Leiden.

Recently the TRC in Leiden received a donation of 20th century tiger hats. These are traditional gifts to young children in China. The hat, and with it the tiger, are believed to protect the child against evil spirits and bring good luck. Tiger hats are hand embroidered in great detail. The film was made by Augusta de Gunzbourg, MA Asian Studies, Leiden University.
